If God ‘himself’ is snuffing out the lives of ‘his masterpieces’ then hmmmmm maybe it’s a bit bigger than what you are describing. If it’s a despicable horrific act when ‘we’ do it, then how can it be painted as a beautiful and loving act when ‘God’ does it?? Divine violence is ok? Maybe life, in general, is tragic for EVERYONE (sorry, that even includes Christians or the ‘chosen ones’)…and pain, bad decisions, trauma, and suffering are ALL part of the deal?? Time to stop pretending that these fundamentalist Christian viewpoints will somehow radically change things. Do you honestly think abortion doesn’t also occur in the ‘church’?? Of course it does….it is just better hidden there. We are ALL doing our best as humans. Any just and fair God would understand this, and appropriately provide compassion, grace, and mercy. Let’s all just do the best we can - as humans - and let God do God’s job.

Really now asked "...if life is so sacred, as you describe, why does God himself kill 20-25% of all conceptions?? You need to understand that there is an important distinction to be made between a naturally occurring miscarriage and the deliberate ending of a human life in abortion. Although pregnancy loss is known in the medical world as a “spontaneous abortion,” it has nothing to do with induced abortion or abortion-on-demand. One is unplanned (from the human perspective); the other is purposeful. One is based on God’s authority over life and death; the other is a human usurpation of divine authority.
Only God can bring eternal good from situations that are not good. We don’t have the power to do that. We did not start that tiny heart beating, create the blood that is flowing through the fetus’s veins, or preordain the days of a child’s life as God has done. Therefore, when human beings induce an abortion, we are destroying God’s creative work without His permission. However, when God chooses, through miscarriage, to take a child’s life early, He has the right to do so. It is His child, His work, His masterpiece (see Ephesians 2:10 and Mark 10:14).

@ Swkh310, while it is true that people have been tragically infected with AIDS / HIV by blood transfusions and also by innocent contact with another person who has AIDS / HIV, we cannot ignore the fact that HIV/AIDS began to raise it's ugly head through the gay/lesbian sexual revolution of the 1960's. The Book of Romans Chapter 1 verse 18-32 is an indictment of the heathen, idolatrous world. It starts with these words: “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men.” This passage teaches that the sin of homosexuality has its roots in a denial of God. It brings about shame, degradation, and a “due penalty.” Since STDs such as AIDS / HIV are attendant, for the most part, upon sexual sin, they must be considered as part of the “penalty” which reveals “the wrath of God” against the wickedness of men (verse 18). A key phrase is “God gave them over,” which occurs three times. God gave them over to sexual impurity (verse 24); to shameful lusts (verse 26); and to a depraved mind (verse 28). The meaning is that mankind chose to go its own way, and God allowed it. Granting mankind the freedom to go even further astray was itself a punishment on previous sin.

Hey Nathan - the Christian Right had a major freak-out about gov’t mask and vaccine mandates. Why the change of tune re government ‘mandated childbirth’??
And if life is so sacred, as you describe, why does God himself kill 20-25% of all conceptions?? Why Nathan? Why?

An 11 week-old unborn fetus has hands, feet, fingers, and toes. At 16 weeks, it has fingerprints. The unborn baby has different DNA than the mother. Bradley Mattes said:
"On the View Whoopi Goldberg ripped into half the population — men who dare to have an opinion on abortion. Supreme Court Justice Alito sent her into overdrive when he said, “The fetus has an interest in having a life.” His mistake was humanizing the unborn child. She was livid, declaring “How dare you talk about what a fetus wants! Do any of you men have the possibility of carrying a fetus?” What a sexist comment. As a male I make no apologies for standing up to defend the most vulnerable citizens among us. Abortion’s the most crucial civil rights battle of our age and men deserve a place at the table in this debate. No, Whoopi, we men won’t be relegated to the back of the bus. As long as abortion plagues our nation, millions of us will not be silent in the face of this modern-day holocaust."

Mikey Brown thinks homosexuality is a ‘choice’….a ‘moral failure’. If he was in charge, I’m sure we’d revert to chemical castrations, jail time, or increased and extensive efforts to ‘pray the gay away’. He’s the grand poo-ba, poster-boy of white Christian nationalism. SK is being too gracious. I would not - for a second - doubt the extent of mikey’s raging homophobia.

PLEASE tell me I am misreading this. As frequently as I disagree with Dr. Brown's opinions, I cannot imagine that he would ever subscribe to the absurd, evil fallacy that AIDS is some kind of Divine punishment against gay men. I am sure I am reading this incorrectly.
