Dr. Brown, you defended Christianity and Messianic Judiasm wonderfully in this debate and I applaud your courage, patience and gentleness in conveying the truth in a loving way. Rabbi Jonathan is clearly a very intelligent and thoughtful man who presents the humanistic argument very well. On his point about there being no peace in the world and that if the Messiah had come there should be evidence of it by the change in world instead of more turmoil and war, it seems to me that the following scripture would be applicable in explaining the 2000 years of continued war and human suffering: 2 Peter 3:8-10 New International Version (NIV) "But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare." Blessings!
