Unless, of course, you ask the Evangelical, “pro life,” divorced republican lt. gov. of Texas who found Jesus at a craps table in Las Vegas. Then profit ALWAYS comes before grandma.

some of us who will point out it is affecting the elderly most do so because we feel the effects of the government in this crisis should be more focused on them as they are most vulnerable. rather than a blanket shut down the whole city/state/country try just quarantining the elderly getting food and medicine to them having well visits to them by trained staff. when a vaccine is found to work they should be first in line as they are the most at risk. I think 60 might be a but young to cut off ventilation but I don't know much about the disease. a good life span is about 80 or so so a 60 year old still has quite a lot left in the tank. (i am in my early 40's but even in my 20's I thought 60's was young to die) a big problem with the young is the invincibility factor (nothing can happen to me) and many who don't want to obey self quarantines because they are all about themselves and no-one else. that part I blame on our so-called education system.

“New data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that among the roughly 12% of COVID-19 cases in the U.S. known to need hospitalizations, about 1 in 5 were among people ages 20 to 44.” Yes, but that's a huge age range—probably most of those were at the older end of the range. Apparently only 1% of those hospitalized were 19 or under. So, while younger people do need to be concerned about the virus, they don't need to panic or become paranoid. "The more fragile they become, the more care and love they should receive. But that’s not how our modern, American society thinks." Very true. From experience with an elderly relative, I've noticed that medical personnel don't seem to think much of elderly people either—especially doctors. Well, in general, I have an extremely low opinion of doctors. :P
