Newton, I am not against contraception of women. Also, I am not against abortion because women say "my body, my choice". I am against abortion because I believe it is killing an unborn child. I am also against using the saying "my body, my choice" for abortion because the it should be the choice of the unborn child using that saying, and nobody has asked the child. If we use the saying "my body, my choice" for abortion then it can be up to anyone's parents, grandparents (or even farther back in history, higher up in the family line, such as great grandparents, great-great grandparents, and so much farther back in history) at any point in time if you should be killed for any reason that they want to, and you have no choice in the matter. The reason that would make sense is because at one point in time maybe your grandparents thought afterward that they wish they would have just aborted one of your parents, and if that was the case you would have never been born. I believe that pretty much most Christian republicans against abortion probably think this same way. It might be hard for you to process. One thing I will tell you, though, is that Biblically murder is wrong, and also Biblically there is one true and final judge that each and every person will have to face, and that is God, because He is the one who created everything, and being the only God, He is the only one that knows everything, including every situation and if is right (good) or wrong (evil). So, this being true, just know that you will have to come before God one day to be judged for your life. Nobody else will be able to truely judge your actions. If you are judged as an evil one, you will be sent to death when God tells you "depart from me, for I never knew you". But also know, that Jesus Christ has already conquered death for you, so if you get to know God, and a good place to start is in prayer and listening to Him through reading His Word, the Bible, and when you are brought before God He will not send you to death, but give you a new and everlasting life. That new and everlasting life can also start here on earth if you give your life to Him, just as he gave His life for you through Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God, and when He was here on earth was both human and God in one.

I believe the reason women say" my body my choice" is the real reason social conservatives are against abortion, because they want to control women. I know there are people who believe abortion is taking a life. Now if that were the way all social conservatives felt they would be against contraception which prevents abortion. Social conservatives want women to stay home barefoot and pregnant.

I find it ironic when people who say my body my choice when it comes to the covid vaccine, knowing that they can spread the virus if they get it , they don't like it when women say it about abortion.

I completely agree with you Dr. Brown. And to people like Newton (1st comment), just as Dr. Brown said in is opinion article, he stated correctly, he cannot put himself in the shoes of all of these different women who have been or will be in these circumstances, but he can state some statistics. I can tell you right now, being someone with a disability, I have uncontrolled epilepsy, and was denied having the area of my brain removed to fix it by doctors because I would have lost my entire memory. I will tell you right now, I enjoy every seizure I have, do not want to lose my seizures, and have found that with God in my life, God has found a way to show how He has created me with my seizures and epilepsy all for a purpose. Thank the Lord that I was not aborted. Let me ask you one question, if you end up with a disability in the future do you think you know the future and what you would like to do with your life from say a car accident that makes you mentally disabled in some way? Maybe you would end up being thankful you lived through it all and you just can't see the light at the end of a possible tunnel right now. Can you truely put yourself in the shoes of someone with one of these mental disabilities or someone who survived an abortion, or just feel like you can? Try and honestly answer that. Like Dr. Brown said, he could not put himself in the shoes of these women in these different situations (because he isn't able to get pregnant), but are you any one of the type of people who he stated the statistics, or are you just guessing it would be too difficult for you?

Liberals are tired of being given a religious argument against everything they support. Not all Americans are Christians. as for handicap people some children are in wheelchairs, can't speak, see or hear. Not a way I want to live. People have their take on when life begins, I think it is when a baby can live outside its mom without any help. The texas law will be overturned when someone tries to enforce it. Were Rowe is in trouble is with the Mississippi law being challenged at the supreme court. The justices have already played their hands in this case. You can't change peoples mind.

Dr. Brown, you make a compelling moral case. Hopefully will convince many!
However, are we as Christians supposed to make all our moral law mandatory civil law? Does Jesus and His inbreaking Kingdom need the power of law, or is The Holy Spirit empowerment of His people to witness truth and life sufficient?
Let's say that abortion is first degree premeditated heinous murder of an innocent life. Should the perpetrators and abettors of an abortion get life imprisonment or death penalty?
Or can we as Christians be more persuasive, life-affirming, prayerful, and helpful to women in difficult pregnancy circumstances?

Trying to find something like this: an outline of a pregnant woman with the outline of the baby inside with a word bubble by the babies head with the words "my body" in it and a word bubble by the woman's head with the words "my choice" in it. As this illustrates that the body doesn't belong to the one making the choice.
