This is a decent guide on recognizing if you have a problem with binge eating behavior, since this type of addiction is very tricky to establish, after all, we have to eat food to live. Some people don’t even acknowledge there is such thing as food addiction, that’s often a reason why the problem ends up going deeper. Food addiction has to be taken seriously, but however, I do believe it’s not as harsh as addictions to abusive drugs like cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine etc. If you’ve been suffering from drug addiction, abstaining is a must, there’s no other way around it. In cases of binge eating, I believe abstaining is crucial in phase 1 until you’ve cleaned your body from junk food and overcome the psychological barrier. But once you take control over your eating habits, why not have a piece of cake or a tortilla sandwich once a week, especially if they’re made from health-friendly ingredients? In my opinion, moderation can be achieved in cases of food addiction. Things are delicate and different approaches work for different individuals. Since my cousin used to have a binge eating disorder, a nutritionist and health/fitness enthusiast like myself had to give my best to write an article about this subject. If some of you are curious about it, here it is: https://organicpowerfoods.com/health-topics/what-is-food-addiction-and-how-to-fight-it I hope it would prove useful to those who need help.
