I agree wholeheartedly with your article, Dr. Brown. I just have one question and a short comment about it. What is to be done with the question that is posed by the struggling Unbeliever, or the antagonistic atheist for that matter, who says, "Ok, but how to you explain the Intersex Person or those who have XXY, XYY, or both XX and XY chromosomes? I mean, chromosomes don't lie, right?" If we don't come up with a Biblical response to that the Bible will be found to be lacking. You and I know the Bible is not lacking and God's Word does contain an answer. So how do we answer that? I think we all know this really isn't about "Transgender", which you rightfully stated does not exist, or "Intersex" but rather "Does God exist. Is He who He says He is? And is His Word the inerrant, infallible, timeless actual Word of God that we can use as the final Authority by which we govern our lives?" Did God truly create them, as He says He did, male and female? If God carefully and wonderfully knits us together in our mother's womb and He does so either male or female, then how do you explain Intersex? Or is the claim that "God made them that way" to be believed? It is not good enough, and it won't hold water, to point to the 98% and just dismiss the "exception" to the rule. The "exception" must be explained because of who God is and He doesn't make mistakes. My answer has been and is to date that there is a mystery in Sin somehow corrupting that which God created and still creates but that which God created is still there. A rose may have thorns today but it is still a rose. So the male or female that God created is still there. When the deception is peeled back the truth is seen. Perhaps you can shed light on that. Perhaps there are scientists already unveiling the truth in how to determine such anomalies in light of God's Truth. The answer must come not only so as to continue to speak the Truth of God's Word but to give to those who may be struggling with who they are and what God has to say to them. May it be so.
