For many years as a Baptist and what I was told, the Lord led me to the scriptures to reveal that even if we know Him, but choose to reject Him as Lord, He says He will deny the ones who say Lord Lord, because the do not do His will. As another just wrote about Romans 10:9-10, "For if you confess with your mouth that Yeshua is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart it is believed for righteousness, and with the mouth it is confessed for salvation." Confess is not just words, but life actions. We are known by our fruit. It is not that we sin that we forfeit our salvation, for we all sin. It is that our actions (lifestyle) which needs to line up with our words. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, and drive out demons in Your name, and perform many miracles in Your name?’ Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Get away from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’” Matthew 7:21-23 “Therefore whoever acknowledges Me before men, I will also acknowledge him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven." ~ Matthew 10:32-33 “But still, you have a few people in Sardis who have not stained their clothes. They will walk with Me in white, because they are worthy. The one who overcomes thus will be dressed in white clothes; I will never blot his name out of the Book of Life, and will confess his name before My Father and His angels." ~ Revelation 3:4-5

Being truly saved is like DNA..One can not change their DNA to change gender for example..same goes for being saved as spelled out in Romans 10 verses 9-10 !!
