Many people come to America, legally and illegally, to have better lives and to live in freedom. Their desires are not evil. They want to work honest jobs and raise their families. Even if they are here illegally, they are not bad people. Breaking up their families and putting all of them in detention centers is such a cruel and unnecessary response. Taking a kid to a drag bar is wrong, but putting kids in foster homes or detention centers because they want to live in freedom and with more opportunities is even worse. They don't come here to do evil things, but they are treated as evil monsters who are out to destroy America. If you care about kids, why not care about reuniting them with their parents while their cases are heard? I understand that many people commit crimes and are put in jail, so their families are broken up, but these people are not really trying to hurt anybody. They don't need to be locked up because they might get a job and raise their families here illegally. Jail should be for dangerous people who are a real threat to society. Where is the mercy?

I’d much rather leave my kid with drag queen than a Catholic priest any day of the week.
